Yass!
Create Queer Joy
Locamente, one of the biggest party and events producers in the Barcelona and Madrid queer scene, was ready to party and needed the visuals to help launch YASS! a new monthly LGBTQI+ pop and hits party with a fresh and bold style. I created a fun and dynamic promotional video and animated social media content to promote the parties on the streets and online.
Fancy Footwork
For this project I worked together with a designer and art director from the Locamente team to turn the pre-shot green screen footage into a seamless set of scenes.
The original vision included pop culture references to pop style, bold and saturated colors, and a funky aesthetic.
After some work, I added famous pop music lyrics scrolling across the screen. We mixed video and photo pieces with flat design, to achieve an over-the-top cartoonish pop style in the piece. In three months I designed the cornerstones for the entire visual brand and promotional assets.
The Beat Goes On and On
In the end, I handed off the stylized video loops for use across online banners, the promo video, social media gifs, and visuals for the screens at each party.
Camp it Up
3D designs and plastic textures groove with 2D geometric shapes to put the ‘pop’ in Pop. I also added animal print textures to take it over the top.
The Numbers
YASS! became a quick hit with Spanish queers, with 20K followers on social media.
Boots made
for walking
YASS! ultimately hit the road, welcoming thousands of local partygoers to high-energy dance floors in Barcelona, Madrid, Vienna, Frankfurt, Torino, Milan and Amsterdam.
